Vienna, 23.11.2006 --- Casino development and management company Casinos Austria International (CAI) and its local partner, Gold Reef Resorts, have announced that they will be opening a further two casinos in South Africa over the next two years, bringing their total number of casinos in the country to seven.

Casino Queenstown in Eastern Cape Province will open late 2007 with 180 slot machines, 6 gaming tables, restaurants, a sports bar and a 32-room hotel with conference facilities. A capital investment of some 10 million euro is planned for the new casino, which will create 250 jobs.

Casino Silverstar in Gauteng Province near Johannesburg will open in 2008 with 700 slot machines and 35 gaming tables. Located on an artificial lake, Casino Silverstar will tantalize visitors with spectacular Las Vegas-style water features. The complex will also include a hotel and spa complex with 8 restaurants and provide jobs for some 1,500 people. The total planned investment in this project is around 120 million euro.

CAI has been active in the South African casino market since 1998 and currently operates five casinos across the country: Gold Reef City Casino near Johannesburg, Casino Mykonos in Langebaan, Garden Route Casino in Mossel Bay, Golden Horse Casino in Pietermaritzburg and Goldfields Casino in Welkom. All its casinos respect and adhere strictly to South Africa's black economic empowerment policies. CEO Paul Herzfeld attributes the company's strong presence in South Africa both to its sound management approach and its strong partnership with Gold Reef Resorts.

2006 is already proving another successful year for CAI's South African operations, with all five casinos expected to post increased results for the year.
