Baden, 10.10.2005 --- The night of 8-9 October saw Casino Baden once again playing host to the international Poker elite and the final of the 2005 European Poker Championship. Over 300 of the world's best players from over 28 countries had gathered in Baden to battle it out in a week of thrilling Poker for total prize monies of EUR 540,000. This year the title of European Poker Champion went to Jan Pedersen Bitsch from Denmark, who snatched victory from Italy's Eugenio Vicenzi and Austria's Zhengfa Ye in one of the most exciting contests in the tournaments history.

The top three players were rewarded handsomely for over 50 hours of enthralling Poker entertainment and total concentration: winner Jan Pedersen takes home a check for EUR 107,787, while the second and third place finishers received checks for EUR 80,840 and EUR 59,283 respectively.

Catering for the event was provided by the renowned international gourmet caterer DO&CO, while over 200 casino staff worked literally around the clock to ensure the tournament ran smoothly and efficiently. The thrill of the game, the perfect service and the unique atmosphere offered by Casino Baden all contribute strongly to making the European Championship one of the most attractive events in the international Poker calendar.
